Write in your own language. Describe what to ask, what to avoid and when to involve you.
- Choose the conversations
- Select specific shared private chats, or explicitly allow all of them. Optional keywords can trigger the start of a conversation.
- Pick your model
- Connect your OpenAI API key, choose a model available to your account and test it before enabling replies.
- Decide how much context to share
- Choose the last 1–30 customer messages, with replies between them. Long conversations may be shortened.
- Set a daily request limit
- Choose 10–1,000 API requests per day. OpenAI bills your account separately; this is a request limit, not a spending cap.

If the customer asks for a person, or the AI hands off according to your instructions, Telepath pauses that chat and notifies you in the bot. Replying manually also pauses AI.
Return whenever you’re ready: tap Resume AI, or set an optional quiet interval. New messages from either side extend a timed pause.
Technical errors and unconfirmed deliveries need manual review. Resuming applies to the next new incoming message.

Add Telepath in Telegram’s Chat Automation / Business settings, select your private chats and allow replies. Follow the device guide.

Open Auto-reply in the bot
Go to Main menu → Auto-reply. Choose Private chats. For a group you own, choose Groups instead. Your one-time 14-day free trial starts only when you successfully enable replies after setup and testing.

Add your key and instructions
Choose your OpenAI model, context, daily limit and allowed chats. Decide when AI should hand off and whether pauses can end automatically.

Save, test and enable
Run the connection test, review the consent and explicitly enable replies. Try your workflow in a selected chat before extending it to more customers.

How does the 14-day free trial work?
Your trial starts the first time you successfully enable auto-reply, after saving settings and testing your model. It runs for 14 consecutive days, once per Telegram account. Pausing, changing your key or reconnecting does not reset it. Afterwards, continue with Unlimited — 200 Stars / 30 days. No automatic subscription or Stars charge is created by the trial. Your own OpenAI API key is required and OpenAI usage is billed separately throughout. The trial covers auto-reply only; reminders and other paid features keep their usual plan requirements.
Does AI send replies without my approval each time?
Yes, after you explicitly enable auto-reply. It responds to new incoming messages in the chats you allow, using your saved instructions. It stays off until you configure, test and enable it. Test your workflow carefully: AI can make mistakes.
Does my ChatGPT subscription cover the AI costs?
No. Auto-reply uses your own OpenAI API key, with usage billed to your OpenAI account separately from both Telepath and your ChatGPT subscription. Choose a model and daily request limit that suit your needs.
Can it ask customers for specific information?
Yes. Tell it what information to ask for, in what order, and when to involve you. For example: ask about dates and guests, then hand the conversation over for a booking decision. This version can reply in the chat or hand off; it doesn’t check availability, book rooms or update external systems.
How long does a manual reply pause AI?
By default, until you tap Resume AI. You can instead set auto-resume after 5–1,440 minutes of silence. New messages from either side extend the pause. Technical failures still require manual review. AI resumes with the next new incoming message; it won’t work through messages that arrived while paused.
What goes to OpenAI?
Your saved instructions and a limited text context from the relevant chat: the last 1–30 customer messages you selected, with intervening replies, subject to length limits. Text and captions are included; media files, unrelated chats and your Notes aren’t sent for auto-reply. Your API key is stored encrypted. Read the privacy policy.
Can I change settings or stop it?
Yes. Open Auto-reply → Private chats or Groups in the bot to disable it or change your settings. Saving changes pauses automation until you test and enable it again. When neither your trial nor Unlimited is active, auto-reply stops; your settings and waiting conversations remain available.
